You are who you are

“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
― George Bernard Shaw

Some days we simply wonder what’s the point of it all. . .

Some days we just feel lonely and dejected. . .

Some days we need to learn to go with the flow. . .

Some days we need to pause, reflect, wait and consider the circumstances before we act and react. . .

And some days, we must simply square our shoulders, hold our heads up high and march forward with determination and purpose especially when we feel more like staying in the bed with the shades drawn and the covers pulled up over our heads. . .

Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
(Philippians 3:12-14 NIV)

Brilliant! I love the way your photographs fit so perfectly with the words in this post Julie. It put a smile on my face and warmed my heart as I sit here surrounded by bits of paper preparing for trip to Budapest tomorrow! It is definitely a march forward with determination day.

    Blessings, David

    • Happy I could offer some light cheer—it was so funny how the gulls fit the bill and delivered with grand personality! Prayers will be offered David for safe travels and business success—perhaps the thought of good and different foods may be somewhat enticing 🙂
Adventure—it’s all an adventure my friend—

So wonderfully creative! I’m here at my daughter’s for a few days to help with the grandchildren while my son-in-law is away on business. Just dropped them off at school and am enjoying a cup of tea before I begin my time of prayer and reflection. This post is so very peace-giving after a busy hour or so with the children – not used to all the chatter and busyness in the morning – but what a gift they are! Must get my course work done while they are away for there will be no time once I pick them up from school. Have a marvellous day full of blessings.

    • So glad you are getting to spend time with your daughter and grandchildren, although you have been put into servitude 🙂
We went to the beach over the weekend for a quick trip—before the Fall and Winter kick into high gear—no matter how long or short, the beach, the shore, the ocean, and all that it entails is always a soothing comfort—hugs, love and happy studies 🙂

Images and message couldn’t have been more eloquently designed to touch my heart today!! I thank God for you, my friend!

  4. You wrote my day’s story with this one! What an awful, awful day it has been. So much pain and discomfort and sadly it ain’t over. I’m so glad you had your weekend at the beach. Love, N 🙂
