“Our concern is not to explain but to proclaim”
A.W. Tozer
(the cliffs of Slieve League, Co Donegal, Ireland / Julie Cook / 2015)
How much energy is lost in the never ending battle of explaining, defending, defining?
As most words of defense and explanations fall upon deaf ears and closed hearts.
Make a point today to proclaim, leaving the explaining to another day…
“Look, he is coming with the clouds,”
and “every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him”;
and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.”
So shall it be! Amen.
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God,
“who is, and who was, and who is to come,
the Almighty.”
Revelation 1:7-8

You’re a blessing Julie!
Indeed we are told to be witnesses for Jesus not lawyers.
see my reply to CS as it’s really to both of you as you both are cracking me up 🙂
Eh, not sure. Paul argued as a prosecuting attorney…………to cite ALL men as sinners, as well as a defense lawyer to ward off any who would then level a charge against the justified, so arguments serve a purpose. Romans is a trial gem.
Indeed we are to proclaim, but there is a place for ‘litigation,’ hmm, the question is, where and when is it fruitful? I suppose we each must answer. What is right for one, may be wrong for another. Let every man be persuaded in his own mind kinda thing.
Thank God for grace. But Jewels you make a strong case for ‘presenting the gospel,’ which is broad, for a person cannot cannot conceive redemption if he denies creation. Thank God for the apologists who know their place.
I think of Ravi, Lewis, all playing crucial roles in areas that others could not; gotta love that ‘body having many members’ idea.
Nice
Tkx Wally-
It’s all good. We be workers together……………. 😉
That three fold cord again
cracking me like a nut
😉
🙂
First of all, may I just say that you and Wally crack me up!!!!!
Ya’ll need to have your own show—I’d watch it—there’s nothing worth watching on TV and y’all would be great 🙂
I know that there is indeed a strong need of and for Christian defense, explanation, augment etc…yet there are also those days when all that will do is the simple need of proclamation—There will always be those days that I am to climb the mountain with exhortation and finger waging defining, explaining, arguing, defending—yet today, rather than my verbose ramblings and gesticulating hands when I’m busy making a point…today just seemed the day to stand quietly, in awe, proclaiming the Greatness and Majesty of our One True Omnipotent Creator
Tomorrow may be another story 🙂
She topped us both my friend.
🙂
Nice jewels. I’m with ya all the way.
Be we have all come to know and love your ‘ramblings,’ which I may not agree as that 😉
Not to explain, but to proclaim….I like that!
🙂
Oh, I agree 100%. As we proclaim we are planting seeds and the Lord promises to brings the seed to fruition. And He’s so much better at explaining and convincing. Love and hugs, N 🙂 ❤
🙂
😘
I’m so happy to read this today ~ and totally agree. Only by grace ~ ~ ~
