old man

The first suffering we must experience is the call surrendering our ties to this world.
This is the death of the old human being in the encounter with Jesus Christ.

Old man take a look at my life
I’m a lot like you
I need someone to love me
the whole day through

Lyrics by Neil Young

The old man, that which is of flesh and bones…
having been born of woman…
must be cast aside.

For that which is old, composed of the world, ego, sin, self, deprivation,
and hidden lusts and agendas
must be surrendered…unto death…

As the encounter, the collision of the old crashing into the person of Jesus Christ,
shatters all assumptions and all that was.

For we know that our old self was crucified with him
so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,
that we should no longer be slaves to sin

Romans 6:6

Nice tie in there jewels with Neil Young! So true.

And btw, your solid, relevant, and consistent testifying yesterday at the ‘hood was appreciated. πŸ˜‰

  2. You can even pack a wollop in just a few words! Another fantabulous post missy! Love and hugs, N πŸ™‚ ❀

Five apologies in advance jewels, no, make that ten, but this had your name on it. I’ve dealt with this before and have devoted a lengthy post about it……….only to be scorned.

As you can see, a bit of a drunken stupor to speak of this man of God in such a fashion.

    Soooooooooooo,

archx1 sez: ‘————Further, many reputable neurologists have diagnosed Paul’s symptoms – blinding light, falling down, auditory hallucinations – and determined that he suffered from temporal lobe epilepsy, and was not the recipient of some supernatural experience. Being scientifically ignorant, he had little choice but to give a supernatural explanation to a natural experience………………………’.

Oh it pains to read this, but as you say, maybe you can feed the hungry. πŸ˜‰
Sorry though, I just have no interest in giving this any air of legitimacy.

But in the spirit of your post, maybe the silver lining is that the ‘old man’ will someday meet his maker, as we all will, and as is more dearer to you now…..,

    • Amen, and I can’t help but laugh…

Not only that Jewels, but the comment about Paul here………takes on a greater shade of absurdity when sitting against the calm daylight of your site.

A person reading this scriptural account would never arrive at such a bizarre conclusion………..unless one was already predisposed to reject the narrative.

Maybe I should forward all the nonsense to you, where the comments may die a slow death and R.I.P. πŸ˜‰

I so love Neil Young songs – although I prefer the old to the new. Old Man is one of my favourites.
