Making

A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable,
but more useful than a life spent doing nothing.

“What are we going to make of Christ?
There is not question of what we can make of him,
it is entirely a question of what he intends to make of us.”

C.S. Lewis except The Strangest Story of All

Too much energy and time is often spent in the lofty theological defense and discussions of the conundrum of Christ and His place within the sphere of humankind.
Did He?
Didn’t He?
He said…
No, rather He meant….
He is…
He is not…

He desires not our time spent in the endless arguing, fussing and cussing…
with both believers and non believers over those issues He finds both tiny and small…
But rather and more importantly…
He desires much much more…
He desires, longs for and most certainly prefers…
our becoming,
our doing,
our living…
our allowing…
Allowing Him to work through our hands, our heads and our heart…

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart,
as working for the Lord, not for human masters…

Colossians 3:23

    • I’ve been most negligent in offering my gratitude Vincent—life is proving to be daunting— and there is a post in all if it waiting…but I’ve got to climb the mountain first, so time has not allowed me more leisure to do what I should do…and that is to be more timely in offering my thanks…thank you dear friend for always sharing the musings of this befuddled retired educator šŸ™‚

  1. I love this! SO wonderful.

Ha jewels, I’m smiling at myself, because I just mussed, fussed, and well, maybe didn’t cuss, Strangely, I agree with you totally; there is a hidden danger of ‘giving your body to be burned,’ but having not love…………having knowledge but not………..what will we be?

but indeed, God allows many bakers in His kitchen, I guess all is good as long as we are using His ingredients. The brownies that I despise could very well be God’s gift through another……..to satisfy someone hungry for brownies…..

Good stuff by you. The kitchen of God………….hmmmm.

    • Many gifts are given CS and discerning their uses is certainly out task– I’m often addressing myself when I speak of the reminding of doing as I tend to be one to rattle on about what one should be doing when I’m actually the one who needs to get down to being and doing –so happy cooking CS šŸ™‚

I was just thinking about this issue!

  4. I’ve just run out of accolades! Fabulous photo, quotes, and your message! šŸ™‚ ā¤
