fishing

“You [demagogues] are like the fishers for eels; in still waters they catch nothing, but if they thoroughly stir up the slime, their fishing is good; in the same way it’s only in troublous times that you line your pockets.”
Aristophanes

“As no man is born an artist,
so no man is born an angler.”

Izaak Walton

Casting nets…
day in,
day out…

What will be pulled up…
What will be thrown back?

Who will be saved?
Who will be cast aside?

Throw the nets wide,
making certain they go deep

We all fish for something
The question remains…
what are you fishing for?

When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon,
“Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch.”

Luke 5:4

When we put out our nets where our Lord directs, the catch will be large indeed! Thanks for this insight. Blessings.

  2. ColorStorm says:

There is a thought that says ‘be ye fishers of men, you catch them, I’ll clean them.’

Too many times we get it backwards jewels; we want to clean them first, then catch them. God doesn’t want to give dead mens bones new clothing. He wants to give new life!

But nice of the Lord to ask us to be involved. 😉
