hanging on

I ask not for a lighter burden, but for broader shoulders.

We’re barely holding on…you and I.
We are battered, bruised and feeling beaten.
Assaulted daily by both current events as well as ourselves.

We will not stand if our roots run shallow.
We will not,
we cannot,
withstand this tempest storm…

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial,
for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life,
which God has promised to those who love him.

James 1:12

Thanks Julie – forwarded this to the other elders at church. We are certainly in the ‘barely holding on’ category at the moment.

    • Lynda says:

David, I feel deeply for you even though I don’t know the details for we cherish our churches and desire the best for everyone. Prayers for you and the other elders and anyone else involved.

    • I’m grateful my thoughts could speak to you and your heart David—kind of that misery loves company sentiment as it seems to me that we believers, world wide, are certainly coming under assault—I’ll email more thought on the church soon..
      hugs my friend

  2. Thank you for the encouragement.

Love the photo and the analogy Julie ❤

    • thanks Jenna—we’re kind of battered and beaten right now here in the US—but holding on 🙂

My thoughts are with you and your fellow Americans.

      • Hey Jenna—I commented on your post yesterday but it didn’t post—I’ve found as of late that my comments are not posting to various blogs but ending up in the spam pile—frustrating as I feel silenced by WP erroneously —
check and see if I’ve gone missing—as I have been worried about you–
        Julie

That’s strange that your comments are not appearing on some blogs, it doesn’t seem to have posted to mine yesterday. I appreciate your concern Julie and thank you for being there as an ear to listen on the other side of the world. Hope things are well with you.

      • even odder, some blogs I’ve followed disappeared, as mine did for them—it’s been a seek and recovery mission but things once lost, now seem found—I’ll post again—and we’ll see.
Jenna–I am always happy to listen—sometimes life is hard to muster all along…

  4. I’m barely hanging on right in there with you missy! Love and hugs, N 🙂 ❤
