They are darkened in their understanding,
alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them,
due to their hardness of heart.
Ephesians 4:18
(a late season skipper clings to a leaf / Julie Cook / 2017)
Fragility now clings to a precarious and soon forgotten leaf.
The tattered and worn wings only possess a fading splash of the colors that once were.
The winds are shifting signaling a change is imminent.
Time is of the essence.
And yet the nations have hardened their hearts.
They stubbornly ignore the signs, the warnings, the words.
They are too busy caught up in the pettiness of their times..
drunk on an illusion yet fully digested.
Their ears have turned deaf.
While smug arrogance replaces the wonderment of awe.
Fearful amazement discarded for the bravado of self.
The hand was offered.
The blood long shed
The Hope clearly promised
And still they turn away.
And the faithful cry…Come Lord Jesus, Come
βThere will be signs in the sun, moon and stars.
On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and
tossing of the sea.
People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world,
for the heavenly bodies will be shaken.
At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and
great glory. When these things begin to take place,
stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.β
Luke 21:25-28
Halleluiah our redemption is drawing near!!

“nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and
tossing of the sea.” Certainly sounds like a sign of His soon coming. As you say “nations have hardened their hearts,” and insist we can pay our way out of whatever the current crises is – notably right now “climate change.” That is pushed aside right now in the emergency to have more gun control laws to stop the next evil rampage. Neither money or laws will suffice against the coming of “that” day. As “…time..” says above, “Hallelujah, our redemption is drawing near.” Blessed are those whose hope is in the redeeming blood of Jesus.

Running behind in my reading. We make our own hearts hard, and eventually God will just sit back and let us, and stop striving to bring us back. I think of Pharaoh in the days of Moses. He certainly had many chances, yet hardened his heart, as did God Himself, as he allowed him to take the path he had obstinately chosen.
Yes and I feel like a spectator watching the same thing unfold here with us
End times? Who know when they will begin? Tomorrow? Perhaps. All we know for certain is that each day brings us closer.
so true—generations before us have thought much the same…and yes, one day closer….
