“As soon as I saw you, I knew an adventure was going to happen.”
A.A. Milne
The most splendiferous day spent together at Atlanta’s High Museum of Art
viewing the Winnie the Pooh exhibition.
A marvelous adventure indeed…
Next was supper with a cooling smackeral of Raspberry sorbet
(Autumn trying Moppie’s raspberry sorbet / 2018)
And finally, back home with a new Winnie the Pooh stuffed bear…
silly old bear, Pooh…..
All the sketches of the Winnie the Pooh characters are from the actual drawings on loan
to the High Museum of Art in Atlanta—
many from the Victoria and Albert Museum in London or from private collections.
Most sketches date from 1928 and are drawn by E.H. Shepard
And Autumn is, well…just Autumn…
A marvelous adventure indeed…
“Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind.
“Pooh!” he whispered.
“Yes, Piglet?”
“Nothing,” said Piglet, taking Pooh’s paw. “I just wanted to be sure of you.”
A.A. Milne, The House at Pooh Corner
My children enjoyed Winnie the Pooh and company. Soft and gentle fantasy that does not disconnect a child from reality. Helps to explain it instead.
Oh so true— and how wise are those soft and gentle little animals 😍
Oh how sweet, the art history teacher is already teaching her granddaughter! What a precious way to spend the day with Autumn and top it off with a Winnie the Pooh Bear.
well, I thought the exhibition would be more kid freindly but it was really geared more to adults—but it was really Abby’s idea we go 🙂

So sweet!!
Thank you GW—she is, pooh is and so is raspberry sorbet 🙂
You’re very welcome SC 😍😍😄😄
Our boys were secretly into stuffed animals. They had all the Care Bears, but half had been homemade by their mother. They had all the Muppets.
But the only duplicate was Pooh. The older son had ripped off the vest long ago, so my wife made a green one for him, since he liked green. That way, we could tell which Pooh was which.
Our son loved his blanket but had plenty of stuffed animals…but I did have to often get a new baby blanket as he “loved” his to shreds 🙂
Good ol’ Eeyore. I resemble that.
now my dad was Eeyore—to a t…”oh no, we’ll never make it” 🙂
I have referred to myself as Eeyore. “The weather is fair right now, but it’ll rain soon.” “it’s not great, but it’ll do.”
One of my favorite stories is Eeyore’s birthday. All he got was a empty pot and a broken balloon, but for the poor donkey it meant that someone had remembered him.
such wisdom in a tiny little donkey 🙂
Aww… this is simply a splendiferous post, dearest Julie! And Autumn with that “silly old bear”? Too adorable for words!!!!!!! What a blessed lady you are!!!!! ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
the raspberry sorbet that looked like red lipstick was a hoot
Such cute pictures! I bet it’s hard not to take a cute one of her, eh? I just saw the preview for the new Pooh movie, it actually looks pretty good!
You know it’s bad when a preview makes me cry and that Pooh movie’ makes me tear up every time ☺️
Lol, I teared up too!
