“It is better to be a child of God than king of the whole world!”
St. Aloysius Gonzaga
(a poorly feeling Mayor in her mayorial ride / Julie Cook / 2018)
The Mayor has a sinus infection and an ear infection…throw in cutting new teeth and life
has just become a party and a picnic all rolled into one…
So her two satellite aides had to drive over to Atlanta this morning, in the rain,
all in order to free the little chicken from the pen…
aka– relieve the Mayor from the confines of Daycare…
We’ve brought her back for a bit of rest and recuperation.
We’ve got the prescription filled, the infant Motrin, the Woobooville office is set up…
But her office hours are now a bit limited as most of the time she is preferring simply to be held.
Who doesn’t when feeling poorly π
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction,
with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
I am presently taking care of a sick one also. She is not cutting teeth, but my wife has the trifecta of sinus, war, and bronchial infections. She has missed her cardiac rehab yet again – did not want to start coughing and clear the room. Hope the mayor is feeling better soon. Teething is enough to worry about.
Ear infection, not war infection – but then again, as a Vietnam Era Veteran, she may have some residual there too.
π
Yes, I have lived through the kids teething and ear infections and the grandkids. At least with the grandkids, it has been for limited periods of time. But you live just down the road, Yikes!
Down the road by an hourβ close enough yet far enough π½
That’s good. When your son gets a hang nail, you can kindly tell him to deal with it himself. If you were next door, you might become permanent babysitters. We’ve known a few in our area.
We just feel very fortunate that we are close enough to help whenever they need for us to do so βΊοΈ
All kidding aside, we would love to be closer. A day and a half drive in totally different directions is too far away.
That would be so hard on the heart!
Agreed.
war is quite applicable in all of this Mark π ha!

Poor baby, but she still looks adorable even when she’s sick. Love your photos of her. Happy mayor sitting.
She does—me on the other hand…a night of zero sleep and no shower today…along with a blanket of snot….well….. π
Ah the life of a grandmother. So much better than parenting. Well….,maybe not π
Iβm not sure π±
Teething reduces the immunity so my doctor used to tell me when I would be at his office very frequently with one of the children who suffered from upper respiratory infections quite frequently. As a grandparent, we are quite happy to sit and hold as everything else can be set aside – not so easy for parents. They are all blessed that you are so willing! But then who wouldn’t want to be in the presence of the Mayor who is so incredibly adorable!
I believe it—this is how many sinus infections?! I think she will have to go visit an ENT if she has another ear infection.
I’m covered in snot π
There is a good reason we grow our first teeth while we are young enough not to remember the experience later in life. So sorry the mayor is ailing. Blessings to you both. J.
Sorry she is feeling puny- but she looks adorable. Enjoy your servant status. π
she wears her drool well π
Precious times…sowing into her that she can count on you to be there…snot and all, a safe place with much love…ganny stuff ππ
it is a joyous thing being on ‘this’ side now of motherhood–God’s gift for a bit of a re-do–
π
exactly…God is good!!!!
A chance to apologize for the way we raised our own…β¦β¦β¦β¦β¦β¦β¦.. ;).
Very much something like that π
Awww
I know, right π
π
What a joy!
a delightfully snotty joy π
oh and droll too hahahhaha
Ha ha yeah
There is a nasty cold going around. One of my grandchildren got it (ear infection too). When I was holding him at Christmas time, he gave it to me. Fortunately, holding him was worth the price of a cold.
I pray our Lord spare you that. I was too careless of possibility.
I’m just hoping we don’t “get” it!
