On the one hand, the powers that be want to keep us all safe and virus free.
As some signs state that “Masks are in, everyone is wearing them”
and yet, when the unruly angry mobs rally en masse, there is a slight double standard.
The closing of businesses and houses of worship had been mandated while rioters
were allowed to commander our cities.
Angry mobs have been allowed to swarm together, unmasked, like an angry hive of hornets.
They burn, destroy, steal, smash, and cause massive costly damage with nary a
word said by the powers that be…
but should a parish wish to gather in order to bury a loved one…well, regulations abound.

I think that’s why it troubles me even more so
I’ve been thinking of you friend! This madness is almost too much… not that it’s happening but the hypocrisy that goes along with it, as you have pointed out. It’s like we’ve fallen down the rabbit hole into another dimension. The road signs and creepy grocery store announcements have me feeling like I’m in a George Orwell novel.
I hear you Shara—I went to the grocery store today and the cart cleaners were busy, the signage of distancing and limiting still abounds, the flour aisle is still sparce, never has there been lysol or hand sanitizer for the past near 4 months and the mask people were all over the place (except for moi and a few other brave or stupid souls depending on who you ask 😉 )
and yet the Atlanta police left last night in droves over all the madness…the riots, the looting, the shootings and their zero due process—
I wanted to scream in the grocery store for everyone to wake up—the world as we know it has imploded and they’re eyes keep darting back and forth over those blasted masks as if mustard gas was about to fill the store…
Where are the sane people during this chaos???
Walked the mall today with my 14 year old… no mask. He said mom this is weird. I felt like it won’t be the last time we are singled out. And I’d never endanger my family or anyone else… but lining up outside the store and waiting my turn to go in with a mask on… not gonna happen.

Yes, our politicians would be nothing of not hypocritical, virtue signaling, scare mongers (when going after that other political party of course).
