“Failure is an option, fear is not.”
James Cameron
(odd things find themselves caught in a hurricane chruning an angry sea / Julie Cook / 2020)
Well, we would have attempted to venture home this morning after a long sleepless night,
but…we would have been following and driving directly back into Sally as
she ventured inland and northward.
The wind and rain have been constant all-day as are the flooding and tornados—
We just weren’t too keen on driving in such.
So maybe tomorrow will be a better day at the beach.
(Sally’s leftover mess / Rosemary Beach / Julie Cook / 20202)
So we do not lose heart.
Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.
For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory
beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things
that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient,
but the things that are unseen are eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18
The storm changed things temporary

Storms have that tendency
The good news, you had internet. Does that mean you have power? You may have a much better day at the beach tomorrow. I have been praying for you.
I had internet cause I made my phone a hot spot— we did maintain power— but I would have gone on home if we could have but driving would be too dangerous
Probably not the best time to visit the beach. If that is a wheelchair where is the person it belongs to?
I know right— craziest thing I’ve seen!
I’m glad you are safe. And I’ve always liked the line from the movie Apollo XIII: “Failure is not an option.” J.
We’ve been fortunate— we’ve maintained power despite being directly on the beach!— it’s been something to behold — so I’m good now— one hurricane…I’m good — it does make me wonder, however, about what this winter will hold!!
And no, failure is never an option!!!
Wow, hope you guys are ok!

Safe journey home Julie when the weather permits. We have been enjoying a few days of summer weather. So good that John has gone camping down by a beach in South Wales with friends.
Home a day early David— fist time to the beach where I didn’t need a swim suit or sunscreen— it was definitely a different sort of adventure— one of the back roads we take home was flooded out so we found an alternative path— other than that—a few downed trees but relatively mild thank goodness
I’ve been wondering how you were doing as I heard on the news that Georgia was being slammed. Be safe, my friend. God bless!
Never go to the beach when they’re predicting a hurricane!!!!
We are home a day early!
wow
