“Do not be anxious: go straight on, forgetful of self,
letting the spirit of God act instead of your own.”
St. Julie Billiart
(soon to be sunflower/ Julie Cook / 2021)
“As St. Paul points out, Christ never meant that we were to
remain children in intelligence: on the contrary.
He told us to be not only ‘as harmless as doves’,
but also ‘as wise as serpents’.
He wants a child’s heart, but a grown-up’s head.
He wants us to be simple, single-minded, affectionate,
and teachable, as good children are;
but He also wants every bit of intelligence we have to be alert at its job,
and in first-class fighting trim.”
C.S. Lewis, p. 77

Beautiful
Thank you 🥰
This was wonderful to see to start my weekly, Julie. The soon-to-be sunflower gives me hope. “Hearts like children, minds as grownups”…I feel so much burden right now; through Christ it will be lifted. I have to do some heavy lifting myself. This was an encouragement to me. Thank you my friend. 🤗💛💜🙏🏻
I get it-I seem to be gravitating between heavy and light…in a daily basis….
I’m getting there, Julie….all these new changes are making me more grounded with grit and faith. I was reminded that “tears sowed will be reaped with joy.” It gives me hope. I hope you have the most blessed day my friend. You are such an encouragement. 💛💪🏻🙏🏻
Hee hee. I wonder how many times St. Julie Billiart tripped over his own feet? 🙂
Well this Julie loves knowing there were a few fellow spirited Julies out there— I imagine she speaks from all her own falling!!
Did not realize this was a “she”, but knowing today’s pronoun happy cancel culture, “He” is “She” is “it” is “Us” is “them” is “they” is……well, something, anyway.
well, since this Julie is a girl, I figured that Julie was a well…Julian can go either way…as in St. Julian of Norwich which is female but I’ve known several guys named Julian…go figure
