In yesterday’s post, I noted that I had not kept up with the news during our
small family’s recent little getaway.
A smart and delightful choice I might add.
And thus, upon our return home, I foolishly thought that I needed to play
a bit of catch-up.
So of course there was the story about the plane full of smug, arrogant
and really stupid Democrats who thought they were running away from Texas,
setting their sights on being liberated in Washington D.C.
But what it really was…was a plane full of super-spreaders of Covid.
So why do we vote for such people…??
I digress.
And then there was and is the continuing migrant story…
but where do we start with that one???
Covid, welfare, gangs, sex trafficking, drugs…
Simply not enough time.
Then there was the typical story of hostility in The House between
Dems and Republicans.
A bipartisan panel to look into that House infiltration fiasco…
HA..bipartisan…that’s a good one!
But what’s new???
And of course there was the story about Dr. Fauci proclaiming that we
all need to mask up again…vaccine or not.
But maybe it’s more about the haves and the have nots.
Yet Dr. Fauci now wants us to mask our toddlers…
wee ones who will be heading to pre-school and or daycare.
So hear me now as I channel my best Charlton Heston voice…
NOT ON MY WATCH–NOT MY GRANDCHILDREN!
And no, NO SHOTS for toddlers.
We simply don’t know enough.
Perhaps that shall be one of my many mountains to perish upon.
And once again, there was the continuing story about CRT.
That idiotic ideology which I referenced yesterday.
How to teach about not being a racist…
Lets set people apart, teach them about shame, teach them about resentment,
teach them about angst and anger—those are some really powerful
kumbiya thoughts…right????
Eyes rolling.
And now there’s this latest story about the White House promoting the
Abolitionist Teaching Network whose desire is to “disrupt whiteness”…
What in the heck is that all about???
So let me backup to where we really need to be with this whole
education thing.
If you want to go backwards, which it seems the woke folks are bent on…
let’s go back to what actually worked back in the beginning…
God.
Prayer.
The Ten Commandments.
Faith.
Family.
That pretty much covers all of this lunacy in a nutshell!
Go back to those particular key components and all this fiasco will
finally be righted.
Righted only if those 5 things fall back into their original place…
then and only then will we ever have some sense of normalcy and peace….
otherwise it’s Katie bar the door—
all Hell is about to break loose and I mean hell with a big H…
as in literally.
Love, by its essence, involves a leap into the unknown, a death to oneself,
because genuine love is a love that loves to the end.
And to love to the end means to die for those whom you love.

Here’s one explanation for the madness: there’s more underfoot than CRT, defunding the police, busing immigrants by the thousands all over the country, etc. The bottom line is power. When Americans are living with hate and anarchy all around them they will beg the government to come to their aid and make peace. Those authorities will be delighted to oblige–with national police wielding powers we’ve never seen in this country. In the past, many legal immigrants have come to America to escape such totalitarian measures. THEY recognize the signs of such a scenario happening here because they’ve seen such signs before. (A terrific book that quotes such individuals and sounds the alarm: Live Not by Lies by Rod Dreher.)

I also had nine days away from the news… and haven’t looked at it yet today. Except that yesterday a television was on in the restaurant where we ate lunch. Aside from a space ride, we also heard about riots and murders in the nation’s capital (Is anyone suggesting an investigation?) and we heard President Biden boasting about how much infrastructure is happening under his administration. Which set me to wondering… doesn’t it take years of planning and studying and proposing and finalizing the plans before the building begins? So if the building is happening this summer, whose administration gets credit for the work? J.
One would think such would take years to get rolling so perhaps we should look back a couple of years 🤔

We are in the crosshairs of the insanity in our family. My son works in the Shelby County school system as a teacher. His wife has gotten a “message from God” and she is removing her children from public school and home schooling, because “who knows what garbage they teach.” Hmmm. Ask your husband? She used me as a sounding board about CRT, LGBTQ+, evolution, millions of years, etc. But she was disingenuous. Her only heart burn was forcing the children to get the shots – something that they are toying with but not yet doing. She, according to my son, cannot wash one load of clothing during the day – leaving the wet clothes to mildew and rot in the washer – and she thinks she can teach an 8th grader who will be pining over not seeing his girlfriend, a 4th grader who would love it yet needs to learn how to make friends (very, very introverted), and an obnoxious 1st grader who never listens to his parents and resents being punished by them, because he thinks that he is being entertaining. After we left, he carefully flipped the full garbage cans upside down so that the garbage would spill everywhere when you righted them – just to see what would happen next – a spanking and having to clean the mess, but it was entertainment for him. I told our son that we could abandon our junk in PA, move to TN, and I could do a fair job with the older two, but I refused to touch the younger one, and my wife would be worse. She would be complicit in his misbehaving since they are two peas in the same pod. Please pray. They are going to their church’s family pastor for counseling about the home schooling today, and it may turn into serious marriage counseling thereafter. Especially if my son cannot curb his tongue and use less inflammatory ways of expressing his views.
A first grader who knows the flip trash cans like that is going to be a force to be reckoned with!
And I know all about a son and the dynamics of his wife and kids— a fine balancing act that frays the nerves —
I’ve thought about the homeschooling when our son was little— but I would had to quit my teaching job and would have failed him miserably in math— plus as an only child, he needed the social interaction for better or worse!
But today— I am horrified over our school systems— ours will go to private school as long as our daughter in law stays teaching there and we will have to help with that bill

Private never was in our price range and we looked at home schooling, long before internet, but opted toward public school, as you said for better or worse, or should that be better and worse.
