So we’ve all probably witnessed or read of the following tale…

And I’m probably already going viral as we speak…

So let me set the scene…

My husband and I ran into a nearby Target today as I needed to pick up
a few items.
This particular Target is larger than the one we had in our previous community.
I think they call it a super Target.

I really don’t always think bigger is better but that’s just me.

So while we were cruising up and down the various aisles, grabbing what we needed,
I heard a loud ruckus heading our way.
Loud laughter and what sounded like a basketball bouncing up and down on the floor.

What the heck???

My gaze was now fixed toward the end of the aisle as I was waiting to see
what this growing crescendo of noise was all about…

And that’s when I saw them…

5 young teens were kicking a soccer ball down, in and out, the various aisles.
Loud, pushing, shoving, laughing with one another while all acting a fool!

And that’s when it happened.

Just like a cat who bristles and puffs up at some approaching adversary,
I felt myself bowing up for a fight.

I turned my gaze toward these boys.
My eyes narrowed with a steely glare…and that’s when I felt that
familiar out of body voice ready to howl from a place from deep within…

I was in full blown honey badger teacher mode, ready to pounce.

And it only quadrupled when I saw the phone in one of the boy’s hand.
He was recording their reckless antics…
all the while, the soccer ball was kicked into a shelf full of
shaving cream cans…all of which came tumbling off the shelf,
loudly crashing to the floor.

Manager???
Can we say “MANAGER”???!!!!
Where in the world is some sort of manager????
What of parents?????
Where are the parents?????

This reminded me of my first year teaching…
it was the last day of school and the kids broke out all the
fire extinguishers while the principal locked himself in his office.
Bedlam…
And this was just that…bedlam.

The inmates were running the asylum.

They saw me seeing them–and my glare was now laser focused and
they knew it…as their laughter only grew.

This “incident” would no doubt hit their insignificant tik tok postings
showcasing just how fun it can be to go into a store and act like complete
immature horse’s ass while others look on in disgust.

So right when I was ready to spring into action, ready to snatch up some hooligans
by the scruff of their necks…
my husband’s voice broke my concentration...”Don’t even think about it!”

I felt his hand grab my shirt, nudging me in the opposite direction of the boys.
“Let’s go check out.”

He knows ‘teacher mode’ all too well.

So my thoughts today turn to parents.
I was a stupid teenager once.
I was also a parent to a teenager
I was also a high school teacher for 31 years.

Parents…please, please….teach your children well…
and if you do, no one will have to be that stupid unruly horse’s ass.

Train up a child in the way he should go;

Firstly—
the magic hour currently is 2PM.
Why you ask??

I live for 2PM…

Secondly,
Spring is in the air and we know that lots of bad decisions have been being made…
think Spring Breakers who each defied rational thinking and opted to live large and,
what has now turned out to be actually, living deadly.

Dumb, stupid and selfish…but such is Spring Break and youth—as are the adults
who claim to be their parents–all for having allowed them to go in the first place…
but I digress.

Here, closer to home, we have some Spring breakers who are also not demonstrating wise
decision making…

It seems the purple finches have decided that our last leg of a front porch light
should be the location for all things amore…and egg-laying.

The problem has been getting any and all straw and whatnots to stay in place and
not simply fall out.
Then there’s the matter of the physical getting in and out.
Throw in the overt swinging when there’s a storm or simply wind…
all of which, I imagine, will make for seasick residents.

Thirdly…
I had to venture back out into the land of contagion today to the supermarket in order to gather
more supplies—namely more baby food—along with adult people food as well as some cat food.
My husband has suggested that we simply let the cats run loose to seek out field rats but
I will save that as a last resort.

Fourthly, but still related to thirdly,

Our local hospital has issued the grade of a D for our community on following the guidelines
of sheltering indoors.
This sort of disturbing news comes as this small brood of mine has all but killed one another
as we’ve sheltered in place now for nearly three weeks…all but for my treks out for supplies.

Our county ranks 7th in our state of 159 counties for active cases of Covid19.
I am ashamed that we have been given the grade of D…
Selfish idiots live among us and it all makes me so mad.

I read a story of how some Maine residents took matters into their own hands when a neighbor
would not stay put…meaning they wouldn’t shelter in place.
So they cut down a tree across the neighbor’s driveway.

I’m wondering if I can randomly go out and cut trees down all over our county…

So fithly, and back to both fourthly and thirdly…

I have always loved grocery shopping.

Call me crazy but I really do enjoy it.
I think it’s because I was hard-wired with that whole hunting and gathering notion
pretty strongly.

I love to cook, as it has always been a way for me to be creative
(imagine an art teacher finding her creativity in the kitchen vs an art medium..who knew?!)
plus I love finding new and different things to add to my cooking repertoire.

So the last three times I’ve had to go to the store, it is all I can do not to simply lose
it in the store.
Meaning that this whole madness is about to bring me to my knees in my own local Publix.

I can see the headlines now—“Local woman falls to the floor in a fetal position in Publix”

I so much as told this to the checkout gal who, by the way I know by name.
I told her this today as I was checking out–that I sadly now hate coming to the store.

There is such an eeriness now at the store, not to mention a bareness.

People glance at one another hesitantly, if they actually see anyone else at all…

As in there is very little eye contact and when there is, it is with caution.
Oh, and it is always over a blue mask.

Gloved hands are the new tres chic…that is, except for my bare face and hands.
I feel so last year.

People now make wide swings away from one another or avoid aisles with more than one cart.

Shelves remain bare.

And I wonder why I even bother.

Oh, to eat, that’s right.

So yeah, these are my first and hopefully not last thoughts for the day…

We the people…are not stupid…

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union,
establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence,
promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves

Contrary to popular Democratic Congressional opinion, We The People are not stupid…
nor are we idiots, uneducated or deplorable.

We are THE people of these United States and we can’t be fooled or hoodwinked.

I thought I needed to take one more stand before moving on and away to a more
important time…that being Christmas and Hanukkah.

I have felt nothing short of being ramrodded, this past couple of weeks, by the likes of
Nancy Pelosi, Jerry Nadler, Adam Schiff, and their like-minded ilk.

Not only should Republicans and Independents feel shanghaied,
but Democrats as well should be feeling demeaned and insignificant.

For what We The People have been witness to, these past several weeks, months and years,
is that we have been ignored, attempted to be kept in the dark, and actually lied to.

As in ALL of us…

Now I know some don’t care and are just happy that that word now rings throughout the land…
Impeachment
but no person of true desire who yearns to see our Constitution work as it was intended…
should be left feeling pleased let alone satisfied.

Clandestine, hidden, secretive and downright dishonest are each words to describe what
We The People have witnessed.

A horrific precedence has now been set.

So now, if you find yourself not liking a sitting president, or
you didn’t like the end result of an election, or
you simply feel the power has slipped from your control…
simply repeat the word impeachment, and suddenly all your wishes come true.

For We The People have learned that if you just say a word long enough,
it can come true.

Kind of like Dorothy repeating ‘there’s no place like home, there’s no place like home…’
all the while clicking those ruby reds…and suddenly poof…she ends up where???
Home.

So if Nancy, Adam, Jerry, Chuck, and Maxine just click their pumps and wingtips
while repeating the word “Impeachment, Impeachment”
it will magically happen.

Throw-in some sketchy unseen whistleblower, a few secretive closed-door meetings,
a onesided carefully controlled and orchestrated hearing that was
exclusive and invitation-only, then you, my friend, now know how to
hijack the system…

Or so you think.

In the immortal words of legendary college football Coach Lee Corso…
“not so fast my friend

We The People may have been left off the guest list to the party, but We The People
know who you are and what you have done…or is that what you have not done?!

You think that by having your very own impeachment party, without following the guiding principles
of the Constitution, you now have given yourselves what you wanted…an impeached
president.

But here’s the thing…you haven’t and you don’t.

You merely took a party-line vote.
There has been no offering from the House to the Senate , no call for the necessary trial,
witnesses and sentencing in order to have a real and true impeachment.
All you have is a lopsided vote, nothing less, nothing more.

Kathy over at atimetoshare.me said the following regarding my post of lamentation yesterday…
“I made the mistake of watching a few of the hearings, much to my chagrin.
The only respite for all of this is that God is in control and instead of putting our trust
in those who are supposedly working for us, we need to glorify Him today and every day.”

It has really dampened the things we should be focusing on at this time of year,
but it won’t steal out joy

Elihu at Elihu’s Corner had this to say…
It’s sad no matter what side of the aisle you’re on.
They’ve made a sham out of our electoral process and justice as a whole…
when are we the people going to call them what they are—domestic enemies who’ve violated
the constitution—and boot them out of office?
Thanks be to God that our hope doesn’t rest on the American government,
but in Christ alone.

And that’s the thing…domestic enemies who have each violated their oaths of office,
and worse, The Constitution of The United States of America.

They are playing fast and loose with their positions while attempting to hide their
actions from We The People.

They do not think we are educated enough, smart enough or wise enough to see
what they are and are not doing.

But here’s the thing, we are.

Another election is coming…their elections are coming…
and they just might be the ones surprised by We The People.
