And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God:
and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels,
to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, saying,
Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees,
till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
Revelations 7:2-3
(GDOT road sign on an Atlanta interstate)
Driving into the city this past week, I was greeted by this sign, as well as a few others,
offering what one might think to be some good and rather sound advice regarding
our collective health…
Make Safe Choices
Wash Your Hands
Watch you Speed.

Please Stay Home
Disinfect, Wash Hands
And yet this was the image from the interstate the other evening following the latest incident
involving a police shooting
On the one hand, the powers that be want to keep us all safe and virus free.
As some signs state that “Masks are in, everyone is wearing them”
and yet, when the unruly angry mobs rally en masse, there is a slight double standard.
The closing of businesses and houses of worship had been mandated while rioters
were allowed to commander our cities.
Angry mobs have been allowed to swarm together, unmasked, like an angry hive of hornets.
They burn, destroy, steal, smash, and cause massive costly damage with nary a
word said by the powers that be…
but should a parish wish to gather in order to bury a loved one…well, regulations abound.
Double standards,
hypocrisy??
You tell me!
All the signs seem to be pointing to a sinking ship…
You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said:
“‘This people honors me with their lips,
but their heart is far from me;
in vain do they worship me,
teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’”
Matthew 15:7-9
